La Memoria de las piedras-Concurso Driehaus 2018

Trujillo y su entorno natural representan uno de los espacios paisajísticos e histórico-artísticos más representativos de Extremadura. Se asienta sobre una colina granítica, donde se puede otear el horizonte, a modo de atalaya.

La propuesta completa parte del uso de los materiales del lugar, sin grandes actuaciones. La piedra como material noble existente, es el primer aliado. Además, las hermosas vistas son la base para el desarrollo de nuestra propuesta. Por ello, garantizando siempre la accesibilidad que se le demanda, se busca el difícil equilibrio entre la modernidad y la tradición propia de Trujillo, llevando sobre sus espaldas la responsabilidad que conlleva intervenir en el area. LA MEMORIA DE LAS PIEDRAS resuena como una oportunidad a un nuevo modo de entender Trujillo.

El proyecto se fundamenta en dos zonas muy diferentes. La primera es el “Parque de la Coria”, donde se asume que la respuesta proyectual no puede partir de la imposición formal o de la implantación de un modelo o sistema abstracto, ajeno al lugar, sino que el sistema a proponer debía nacer del mismo espacio donde iba a ser implantado, como algo natural. Así, el trazado existente del camino del parque, se modifica ligeramente, apoyado en la topografía, para realizar unas pequeñas actuaciones: se crean nuevos bancos, unas gradas, y un lugar donde poder hacer cine al aire libre. Pero lo fundamental está en el sendero, donde con la aparición de dos bordillos continuos que delimitan el mismo, y una serie de bolardos para iluminación. Con ello se consigue una integridad a lo largo de las dos zonas, totalmente diferentes por su topgrafía y orientación.

La segunda zona es intramuros, alrededor del Convento de S.Francisco. Se abren nuevas conexiones viarias en el interior de las mismas para conseguir una mejor relación entre los espacios libres existentes. Además, se rediseña la Plaza de Moritos mediante nuevos esapcios verdes, y se plantea el posible acceso a la cubierta del Depósito Municipal de Agua para poder abrirse aún más al entorno. Se abren nuevas visiones y se generan nuevos espacios públicos para lograr que sea un nuevo paseo íntegro, intramuros y extramuros.
