The project for the new double kindergarten with daycare facilities evokes the atmosphere of the surrounding residential area which is characterised by its garden-city character. Through its formal language, it transforms the existing into a self-confident edifice and generates a place with a strong identity.
A “green” volume in the green.The “Green box” project rises as the renovation of a small disused garage, accessory to a weekend house situated on the slopes of the Raethian Alps.
The new Raima Shop establishes a dialog between the existing historic building in Ciutat Vella and all that’s new. Two more floors are added to the three existing ones, and they are linked by voids, mechanic stairs, perforations… which allow the natural light to get into the core of the building.
IF_DO has completed Montague Court, a small apartment extension on a constrained urban plot in Dalston, northeast London.
Product of the conversion of a small multifamily block, the project of Geltrú House has been based on the conservation of most of its structure, enhancing the former key elements such as the ground floor vaulted brick ceiling and the main dwelling staircase.
Regarding the volume of the house, we used a simple square grid and its diagonals to create the different spaces such as one that is intimately sized, and another containing a spacious void. To each of these, we attached semi-outdoor spaces.
At this house – a residence designed for a family of three and their many belongings – the client requested that the members of the family can feel close to each other regardless of where they are in the house.
Located in Campclar neighbourhood, Tarragona, the new centre for food distribution was designed and built in only three months on very low economic resources, with 120 volunteers completing the build on the final morning.
Tarragona, strategically located on a hill, has a close relationship with the Mediterranean. This geographical duality makes it possible to find such privileged places such as this studio, one of the few workplaces of the city with a sea view.The aim of the project is to bring back the space used as storage for a long time and turn it into a wide and bright workplace.
The project is based on the renovation of an old house in a central Madrid neighbourhood. The intervention restores the building’s spatial values, which emerged when the internal sub-divisions of the original home were demolished. Large open spaces were obtained, connected to each other and naturally lit, maintaining the clearance up to the original floor slab throughout.
